The most extreme BDSM site I have ever seen is BrutalMaster.com. Brutal Master is a real time sadistic master who is unbelievably cruel to his stable of owned slaves. The pictures and videos on his site depict breast skewering, bloody beatings, pussy sewing, electro torture, tit nailing, needle torture and many other torments. Some of his slaves sob hysterically and beg for mercy (they don't get any). Brutal Master refers to his domain as "Hell," and for his slaves it certainly is.

While the site has many fascinating articles both by Brutal Master and his slaves, my visits there left me with some lingering questions. Brutal Master kindly agreed to the email interview that follows, and provided me with some sample images from his site.

Q. When did you first become aware that you were a sadist? Were your interests fueled by any fiction or pornography?

A. In all candor, I always knew I enjoyed the thought of dominating women from a very early age. I used to manage to come up with a lot of games as a child, I mean, really from the beginning, that involved girls getting tied to trees. Of course, this was before I knew what a sadist was. It had nothing to do with pornography; there was none in My house growing up. Certainly, as I got older, any fiction story that involved any type of S&M or anything like that was of great interest to Me. A couple of early things I remember; one was the cover of a pulp magazine of some type. It was in New York, and it showed a woman tied to a stake, on her knees, in a cave. Some fat bald guy without a shirt but wearing riding pants and boots was swinging a whip at her. I thought about that photo a lot, but I saw it long after I began thinking about whipping the girls.

As I got older, of course, I did come across some relatively mild bondage images. There was a magazine called Oui, published by Playboy, and they devoted an issue to S&M. It wound up being sort of a primer for me. Explained the terms, things like that. I was probably 13 or 14 when I saw the magazine at the house of a friend of My uncle.

That same year I started reading de Sade and other works of fiction. To be honest, I have never been that interested in porn or erotica. I enjoy S&M fiction if it’s part of a larger story, just as the scene is part of all of our larger lives. I mean, most pornographic literature is pretty adolescent, if not downright retarded. And, I am a very reality based person, so stories depicting things that I know are impossible just don’t grab Me. The same thing goes for visual erotica. I just never got that much into it because it looked too fake.

A. Well, as I mentioned, a lot of games involving ropes, girls becoming slaves to the boys, control stuff, things like that. It wasn’t that different from regular cowboys and Indians, except the girls always seemed to get tied to a tree or something. But those were really just games and no actual power exchange, and certainly no pain or anything like that.

My first real experience was when I was in high school. I was 15, the girl was 16. There was a chain link fence on the right side of the theatrical stage in the “cafetorium,” a combination cafeteria and auditorium. The cage was designed to lock up equipment or something. We had access to it, and it had curtains around the outside, to keep people from seeing what was locked up in there, which was really nothing. There was a chain and lock. After some making out, the girl removed her top and bra, and she was very much into bondage apparently. So I chained her to the fence. I had this sort of soft leather belt that was pretty common at the time, and gave her a few lashes with it. (This sounds like one of those Penthouse letters, which I usually believe are phony, but this is a true story.) Anyway, she got very, very hot and wound up sucking Me off. I told her she was to wear a skirt or dress to school the next day with nothing under it. She did, and as she was pretty much of a tomboy, that caused a stir because no one had actually seen her in a dress before. If they only knew.

A. Well, I don’t know about being infamous, but since that time in high school, I have pretty much always had submissives or slaves. It was just never much of a problem for Me. I suspect it is two things; first, I am clearly very dominant which I suppose would attract some submissives. Second, I have always been pretty upfront about things, so that seems to work for Me.

Before the Internet, which seems to be the way most people meet now, I met subs through the conventional methods, such as though social contacts, sometimes in bars or clubs, and with the old contact magazines and newspapers.

I think one of the most important things is, I am real and I suppose that pretty much comes out. I think a lot of people talk a good game but don’t really follow through. I did. When I was in college, amazingly, girls would come up to Me and straight out ask if it was true I would tie them up. When I told them yes, they would simply say they have always wanted to do that and off we’d go.

But, you know, I think the important thing is to be honest. S&M relationships are still relationships and honesty and trust is even more important when there are whips and chains involved. I would caution anyone with these proclivities to be extremely honest, first and foremost, with themselves. That will translate to others and help in attracting likeminded people.

A. Honestly, I have never analyzed that very much. It is important to understand that I am in no way interested in inflicting pain on anyone who is not consenting. Actually, these days, a prospect pretty much has to be a true masochist or at least a pretty good painslut.

I mean, some people like asparagus, others don’t. I do truly believe that we are wired this way, dominant, submissive, sadist, masochist, whatever your particular flavor. I think I can speak with some authority about this, and in My experience, there is just no real universal trait that people in the lifestyle seem to have. All sorts of backgrounds, all walks of life, and yet, some seek pain, either giving or receiving, and others clearly don’t.

I will say, the one part I do truly love is the look on the face, in the eyes, of a slave or submissive, when she is really taking it, and she knows this is so real. One of My slaves, an amazing masochist, quotes Umberto Eco, who wrote that the only thing that stimulates an animal more than pleasure is pain.

As for being wired like this, think about it, it makes perfect sense, especially for submissives and masochists. For thousands of years, there were very few people in charge and a lot of people who were just trying to survive. If the powers that be saw someone who was strong, who exhibited leadership, who was a threat, they would kill them, pure and simple. So, from a genetic perspective, being submissive and being able to take a lot of pain would be a great help in surviving. Of course, a few of the leaders did make it through, as well.

A. I go to a few events, but not many. I’ve been to Leather Retreat, Beat Me in St. Louis and the Fetish Flea in Boston. I have also been to some private parties on occasion, and I used to go to the Vault in New York occasionally.  Most people don’t really know who I am, so I can’t really say if I am accepted, although when someone finds out, they usually come over to say hello.

I’m sure there are some in the lifestyle who would suggest I am too extreme. The funny thing is, those people, if they take time to meet Me and get to know Me, are usually very surprised to find out I seem like a very normal guy, which I am, actually.

I will take this opportunity to say, I have always been truly astonished at the amount of bigotry and narrow mindedness in the scene. I mean, the general public is very ill informed about S&M. People who have no experience with the lifestyle have a pretty negative view of it. You would think that would lead those who are in the lifestyle to be pretty open minded about other peoples’ kinks, but it appears that is not the case.

It reminds me of the alcoholic who gets drunk on beer criticizing the ones who get drunk on wine or whiskey; not that I would equate our lifestyle to alcoholics. But I use that levity to make a point. It is a failing of our society in general that we see far too much as strictly black and white when there are so many shades of gray.

A. Well, that is not exactly true, about not respecting limits. I am very clear with any potential submissive or slave. I do not allow them to voice limits. That is a far cry from not respecting limitations. And I do have some limits, the obvious ones, obviously everything must be consensual, in My case, meta-consensual; and clearly nothing involving anyone underage. But there are also inherent limitations, for example, if a submissive had some physical limitation beyond her control, I would certainly take that into account. You can’t suspend someone who is obese, for example.

The point is, not allowing a submissive to top from the bottom. If a slave can dictate things she won’t do, first of all, that really puts her in charge in a meaningful way. That’s a problem.

It is true, I do not allow safewords or gestures. That falls into that topping from the bottom category, as well. But, there is also another more important reason for eschewing safewords; it’s trust. As I have said many times, if you are a sub, and you need to have a safeword, you don’t trust the dom you are with to be reading you. Remarkably, in scenes I have observed where things when too far, in My opinion, the slave had a safeword and simply never used it. The doms involved, having not heard the slave “safe out,” just kept going. The doms weren’t reading the slaves, and the slaves were trying to please the doms and wound up taking more than they could handle.

It’s also very important to understand that the subs who come to Me are usually either very advanced, or at least they have the right mindset. I also don’t plan scenes, for the most part, until I know the masochist involved. That really means I have to know her, have a true understanding of her. Then I will decide what happens.

I suppose that does make Me unusual among Masters, but by the same token, the sluts who come to Me are unusual as well.

A. That is when a slave or sub essentially gives a universal consent, turning over all power. In most cases, when doms and subs get together, or are planning to get together, they sort of negotiate things in a point by point way. You know, spanking is okay but whipping is not; that sort of thing. As I mentioned earlier, to Me, that really smacks of a slave or slut topping from the bottom.

In My case, I simply don’t allow that.

A. Yes, for the most part. I mean, if a slut has asthma, I would expect her to tell Me that. And I do ask if she has any physical or health issues that I should know about. But, remember, the sluts who come to Me know what they are getting into and know what they need, so in some ways, this issue about not voicing limits is not nearly as much of a big deal as you might think. And, as you know, I am very up front about it. When I tell a slut My rules, if she has a problem with that, I certainly respect it and suggest we are not right for each other.

A. Well, you know, a lot of true masochists want to beg, that’s part of it for them, part of the rush they need. That also falls into the category of reading a slave, knowing what she can really take. One of the most masochistic bitches I have ever used would plead and beg and cry all through a scene. The instant it was over, she would beg Me to start again.

Sometimes I did, too.

A. My preference is more intellectual than physical. I do not like meek submissive “doormat” types. That doesn’t work for Me, especially when it comes to anyone I would collar as a slave. They really have to be strong, assertive even. And there is a very important reason for that; when a mousy sub submits, it really doesn’t mean much if she is submitting to pretty much everyone. When a strong woman submits, that means something. Like all relationships, it all starts with the brain. I expect intelligence and I also expect a slave to have her own thoughts. I realize this may not be the way people think I would be, but this is real life for Me.

The submissives who I have been involved with who are meek, I have always tried to help them find their voice. I insist on education and self enhancement.

A. piggy lives with Me. I do not have other live in slaves, although I do own other slaves, and I try to see them as often as possible. I did have two live-in slaves at one time. Let Me tell you, that is really not what it’s cracked up to be.

A. I take slaves out all the time, when it pleases Me. I wouldn’t say as a girlfriend, that’s really not My thing. But what’s the point of having a slave if you can’t do what you want with her.

A. Sure, all the time. Although, in this era of “heightened security,” I have modified the requirements for anyone traveling to Me by plane. For example, I used to have slaves come to Me wearing only a coat in the winter, obviously that is not a good idea anymore. And I now normally tell them to tone it down a bit, it’s just not worth it to draw too much attention these days.

A. Without being too specific, My home is pretty normal looking. I have a dungeon in an adjoining building. Actually the dungeon is in the lower part of the building, and there is also another room where I do a lot of My activities.

A. It depends on a lot of factors. As I mentioned earlier, this is a part of My life, and clearly a deep part of Me. There are periods of time when I will have more than one slave here, aside from piggy, and there is a lot of BDSM activity. Then there are also times when I am busy with other things. Of course, My slaves are always My slaves and that never changes. I would say, I probably have some BDSM activity going on most every day, though.

A. No. This is not about sex.

A. Well, it wouldn’t surprise people who are serious lifestylers. And that first time, jeez, I was 15…everything was about sex then!

A. Um, is there any other kind?

I’m sure by most standards, the answer to that is yes. When I use a slave, or any bitch, sexually, it pretty much always involves activities that would be considered rough.

A. I believe slaves are here for their Masters’ pleasure, and if they are true slaves, that would naturally give them pleasure. If you are asking, do I allow slaves orgasms, for example, the answer is occasionally. But, as I said before, this is not about sex. I do not normally allow slaves to just have orgasms whenever they want. And often, the are only allowed to cum through some means outside actual fucking, such as humping a door or the leg of a bed.

A. I’ll answer the last part of that first. It is a great concern for Me; a dead or disabled slave isn’t much use. I am not the safety police, and the slaves, subs and sluts who come to Me are not looking for that. However, I also ensure that reasonable safety precautions are taken. I’ll give you an example: when I skewer a slave’s tits, I use surgical steel stainless steel skewers. They are meticulously disinfected with a non-toxic disinfecting solution. They are then rinsed with a buffered saline solution. You may notice, I wear rubber gloves, as well. I go to great lengths to ensure there is no infection, as far as possible. The primary risk with deep tissue piercings is infection, which can be truly threatening, so it’s important that the threat is mitigated as much as possible.

Here are a few other tips to ensure you keep your slave healthy; have a fire extinguisher and bolt cutters in your dungeon or play room. In the unlikely event that a fire breaks out, you want to put it out fast if a slave is chained up. And if you can’t put it out fast, you want to get her out fast. You don’t want to be screwing around with locks and keys while the room is filling up with smoke. If you are doing a scene in a hotel room, get an extra key and hide it outside the room someplace. Although it’s unlikely, it is still possible you might inadvertently wind up on the wrong side of a locked door. Make sure you can get back in there fast.

Incidentally, I am CPR and First Aid certified, although I have never had to use either one on a slave. I have not had a slave or submissive or anyone I have used require medical attention.

A. Yeah, well, I couldn’t believe all the blood, either. That is the most lethal whip I have ever used, and between you and Me, that is saying something. It was pretty remarkable. Let Me set the stage for you, this whip weighs about ten or twelve pounds. It has nine tails, but they are thick leather and they are held apart by other bands of leather. At the end of each tail is a metal stinger that has two points protruding, they look like nails. The metal stingers also have glass embedded. To be honest, I had to hold back a lot. Normally when I whip a bitch, it is pretty much full force. I don’t do that wimpy flicking thing, you know, like dusting a table. Most of My lashes are full force, full arm swings. With the scourge, I really had to use control.

This would be a good time to mention that the slave I beat with the scourge, My slave fyre, is an extreme masochist. she can take a remarkable amount of pain. When I tortured her with the scourge, she was pretty immobile, and I kept the lashes confined to her ass.

The first lash drew blood, and each subsequent lash, there were probably fifty in all, drew more. Remarkably, I could see the blood was already beginning to coagulate long before I was finished torturing her. I believe you will be able to see that in the video. (Let’s go to the video replay!).

When I finally finished beating her, I had her kneel with her ass in the air, you’ve seen a photo of that. The slut was still bleeding, but I could see it was already beginning to congeal.

A while later I asked her to describe it to Me, and she said it felt like chicken scratches. That is what it looked like, too. It is an amazing whip.

A. Oh, the scourge certainly has the potential to be the most painful tool. But, really, it depends on the masochist on the receiving end. For some, the thud of a paddle is far more painful than the cutting sting of a crop or cane; for others, just the opposite. I know sluts who crave a full body beating with any type of whip, but they can’t take a small needle in the nipple without passing out. It’s just what triggers the response in each individual.

A. doggy is a very special bitch to Me. she is not a painslut, but she is an extraordinary submissive. she is truly brilliant and extremely creative. I think her ability to submit transcends her real desire to avoid pain.

There is a distinction between painsluts and submissives who are not into pain. But many submissives will endure pain to demonstrate their submission. In point of fact, I believe most masochists don’t particularly enjoy the actual pain, although some seem to. What they love is the feeling they get from enduring the pain; the endorphins that come from the pain. I have read that it is akin to a narcotic, and it can stay with a masochistic slut for much longer that any drug. It is a need for many bitches.

A. Encourage, that’s an interesting way to put it. I don’t encourage anything with My slaves, I tell them what they will do. I know some Masters like it when their slaves are bi-sexual. Personally, I don’t care about that. If a slave is not bi, then having her service another woman is humiliating for her.

piggy is not bi-sexual, so having her lick another bitch off reinforces her ownership. I like that, and I have found it is very effective in reminding and reinforcing a slave’s place.

But that does raise another interesting point. Something like 75 or 80 percent of American men find homosexuality disgusting, an abomination. However, those same guys seem to be very turned on by two women getting it on. It is another illustration of the hypocrisy that we fact in this culture. Get a bunch of guys together and they will talk about how gays are disgusting. But they’ll watch a porn flick with a couple of hot chicks doing each other all night.

That translates to BDSM in a very real way. Those same guys will happily watch a video that clearly objectifies women, but they would oppose a woman making the decision to become a slave. And it’s not just men, women have the same odd hypocrisy. Most American women are firmly pro-choice when it comes to reproductive rights. I agree with them, by the way. But we have to remember, the entire Roe V. Wade decision was based on privacy, specifically, that a woman has a right to privacy that is so fundamental that it is not even specifically listed in the Constitution. Women’s rights groups have hung their hats on that for decades. But, oddly, they don’t seem to have the same view of a woman’s right to choose when it comes to BDSM. Ironic, isn’t it.

A. I really try to create every day, so it’s hard to think of anything specific. As far as the lifestyle goes, many of My more creative moments are very well illustrated at BrutalMaster.com.

A. I certainly do not hate women. Remember, everything I do is consensual. If I hated women, that would not be the case. I was looking at a website for abused women the other day, and there was a checklist of things to watch out for regarding abusive men, and oddly, none of them applied to Me. I once ran a company, and My entire staff was women at one point, and I would bet they would vote Me the best boss they ever had. I would sum it up like this; if a masochistic bitch comes to you and says, “whip me, beat me, torture me,” are you a sadist if you do, or if you don’t?

I have no idea what a psychologist or psychiatrist would say. I do know that the American Psychiatry Association does not consider S&M to be an aberration. Their view is that some people experience love differently. I agree with that.

A. It’s a long story, but essentially, BrutalMaster.com is an outlet for My art. My slaves, and the sluts who come to Me are a canvas, and they truly need a gallery.

A. Good for them. Art should evoke something, if it’s horniness, that’s fine. For Me, really, that is the definition of art, an expression that provokes some reaction from the viewer or listener.

A. Yes to both, but probably not in the way you meant. A lot of bitches do get in touch, but for many of them, it is a fantasy that they will never be able to fulfill. Some men approach Me about watching Me torture a slave, and I have allowed a few to do that, by the way.

A. You read the articles? What kind of pervert are you?

A. I just got the same question from someone else via E-mail. I have no preference. I know that most people who view My videos prefer a slut to scream, but the reality is, many don’t…especially the well trained ones.

A. Yes.

A. I torture slaves for My pleasure and amusement. In all honesty, I rarely have to punish a slave. I also don’t make up reasons to “punish” a bitch, as some people do. You know what I mean, ask a slut a question such as, ‘what color is the sky,’ she answers ‘blue,’ and the dom says, ‘no, it’s green,’ and then beats her for getting the answer “wrong.”

If a bitch displeases Me, the punishment is not corporeal, I don’t beat her; I ignore her or, in some cases, essentially banish her from My life. That would be drastic, but that is the ultimate punishment for a bitch.
